Tafonco a.s. - Company profile

Foundry production in Kopřivnice began in 1860. Since the very beginning, it has been linked with production of vehicles – carriages, buggies, railroad cars, and finally, cars and trucks. Today’s Tafonco a.s. is a subsidiary company of TATRA, a.s., a traditional producer of trucks.

At present, we sell castings made of grey cast iron, ductile cast iron, steel, and aluminium alloys to companies from automotive, construction and engineering industry. We also supply castings for agricultural technology, tractors and forklift trucks. We have our own pattern shop where we produce wooden, metal, resinous, as well as polystyrene patterns of all kinds, and core boxes intended for a wide range of castings weighing from 0.1 kg up to 3,500 kg. Numerous progressive production methods guarantee our customers that castings supplied by our company are of high quality and utility value. In response to individual customers’ requirements, our products are technologically and economically optimized by our R&D staff. We also have good cooperation with universities and research institutes. We provide comprehensive services, i.e. painting, heat treatment, and machining of castings. Our priority is long-lasting and mutually advantageous cooperation.
